Candy floss cart hire

The cart is pink, with two wheels, a push bar and an acrylic dome that keeps the bowl clean. It goes together in three pieces (cart, dome and machine), so set-up takes little more than the walk from the van.

The operator pours sugar into the machine, which spins it into fine threads. These are gathered on a 40 cm wooden stick until a cloud forms, then placed on a stand beside the cart. When the stand is full, the operator pauses and carries on to order.

One portion comes out every 30 to 60 seconds, using 12 to 18 g of sugar. If a crowd arrives at once, the pace picks up to about 30 seconds each. The machine gives off no smoke, so it works indoors without extraction.

Allow up to about 60 portions per hour. Each 1 kg tub of flavour makes around 50, roughly half an hour of non-stop service.

The key spot is the front panel just below the bowl: 30 x 32.5 cm (H x W) for your logo, right at photo height. To go further:

• Service area: 100 x 200 cm (W x D), though it adapts to smaller spaces.
• Power: a standard 230 V socket, 1,200 W. The cable is 120 cm long; if there is no socket that close, tell us and we will bring an extension.
• Weight: about 20 kg. Worth knowing if the floor is delicate.
• Access: step-free or by lift.
